OUR LAWYER

Originally from Romania, Lavinia (“Lavy”) is an internationally trained lawyer who lived half of her life in Madrid, Spain where she and her family immigrated in search of a better life. In 2010 she obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the Complutense University of Madrid. After being admitted to the Madrid Bar Association, she obtained a Master’s Degree in International Business Law with a mention of excellence from the same University. After moving to Canada, and thinking it was nearly impossible to practice law since she’s coming from a civil law jurisdiction, Lavy co-owned and operated several businesses with her husband, including a bbq food truck and a virtual reality arcade. In order to transfer her studies, she attended the Internationally Trained Lawyers’ Program at the University of Alberta and she obtained her Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2018. After articling at a law firm in Red Deer, she got called to the Alberta Bar in 2019. Lavy carries a general practice of law and is fluent in both Romanian and Spanish languages. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking with her two German Shepherds and sailing with her son and husband.
