Originally from Romania, Lavinia (“Lavy”) is an internationally trained lawyer who spent much of her life in Madrid, Spain, where she and her family immigrated in search of a better life. In 2010, she obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the Complutense University of Madrid. After being admitted to the Madrid Bar Association, she earned a Master's Degree in International Business Law, with a mention of excellence, from the same university. After moving to Canada, and believing it would be nearly impossible to practise law as a lawyer trained in a civil law jurisdiction, Lavy co-owned and operated several businesses with her husband, including a barbecue food truck and a virtual reality arcade. Determined to continue her legal career, Lavy attended the Internationally Trained Lawyers Program at the University of Alberta and obtained her Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2018. After articling with a law firm in Red Deer, she was called to the Alberta Bar in 2019.
Lavy maintains a general practice and assists clients in the areas of civil litigation, corporate and commercial law, real estate, and wills and estates. Fluent in English, Romanian, and Spanish, she is able to serve clients from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Outside of work, Lavy enjoys travelling, exploring the outdoors, and sailing with her husband and son in both Alberta and British Columbia.

"Believe you can and you're halfway there."
